कैलाश पर्वत,हस्तिनापुर,मेरठ. हिमालय पर्वत में स्थित कैलाश पर्वत को जैन धर्म द्वारा एक पवित्र स्थान माना जाता है। यहीं पर पहले जैन तीर्थंकर भगवान ऋषभदेव ने मोक्ष प्राप्त किया था। चूंकि आम श्रद्धालुओं के लिए वास्तविक कैलाश पर्वत पर पहुंचना असंभव के सामान हैं इसलिए प्राचीन दिगम्बर जैन बड़ा मन्दिर,हस्तिनापुर ने यहाँ कैलाश पर्वत की प्रतिकृति बनाने का फैसला किया, ताकि तीर्थयात्रियों को आसानी से सुलभ विकल्प मिल सके।इस अद्वतिये रचना को बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा मेरठ के स्वर्गीय लाला हंस कुमार जैन जी सर्राफ़ का जिनकी मेहनत और लगन के बिना इस रचना का वास्तविक रूप लाना असम्भव था । एक अन्य कारक जिसने हस्तिनापुर में इसके निर्माण में योगदान दिया, वह यह है कि हस्तिनापुर से ही अक्षयतृतीया पर्व की शुरुआत हुई, जिस दिन श्री आदिनाथ ने अपना 13 महीने का उपवास तोड़ा था और आहार ग्रहण किया था। 131 फीट ऊंचे स्मारक में पद्मासन में बैठे भगवान ऋषभदेव की 11.25 फीट ऊंची मूर्ति स्थापित है। हस्तिनापुर में कैलाश पर्वत तीन चरणों से बना है। इसमें भूतपूर्व, वर्तमान और भविष्य के तीर्थंकरों का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हुए 72 मंदिर हैं। प्रत्येक परिपत्र चरण एक विशेष अवधि के 24 तीर्थंकरों का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। भवन की एक विशिष्ट विशेषता इसके उत्कीर्ण द्वार, सुशोभित छत, स्तंभ हैं। कैलाश पर्वत,हस्तिनापुर की ख़ूबसूरती देखते ही बनती हैं ,इतना शांत और पवित्र वातावरण कही और देखने को नहीं मिलता । Mount Kailash, Hastinapur, Meerut.
