Devotees have darshan of the goddess from a distance. ज्ञानो देवी सतीमाता मंदिर,सूरजकुण्ड,मेरठ. मेरठ शहर अपने आप में कई ऐतिहासिक, पौराणिक कथाओं को संजोए हैं. यहां पर आप को एक ओर जहां क्रांति की अनेकों ऐतिहासिक गाथाए मिलेंगी.तो वहीं दूसरी ओर पौराणिक कथाओं की माने तो भगवान श्रीराम से लेकर श्री कृष्ण तक के आगमन की यहां उल्लेख है. कुछ इसी तरह के एक ऐतिहासिक मंदिर के बारे में आज हम बताएंगे. मान्यता है कि 40 दिन दीए जलाने के बाद भक्तों की जो भी इच्छा होती है वह पूरी होती है. इतना ही नहीं इस मंदिर का इतिहास की बात की जाए तो सैकड़ों वर्ष पुराना है. 1080 संवत में हुई थी मंदिर की स्थापनामंदिर के इतिहास के बारे में बात करते हुए मंदिर के मुख्य पुजारी श्रवण कुमार रामजी ने बताया कि इस मंदिर का इतिहास सैकड़ों वर्ष पुराना है. संवत 1080 में जब राजपाठ होता था. तब ज्ञानो देवी के पति जिस राजा की सेना में थे वो वीरगति को प्राप्त हो गए थे. तक उन्होंने भगवान योगेश्वर का ध्यान करते हुए अपने पति के साथ ही योग अग्नि के माध्यम से सती रूप धारण कर लिया था. जिसके बाद से आज तक इस मंदिर को लेकर भक्तों का अलग ही महत्व है.दूरदराज से आते हैं भक्त दर्शन करनेइस मंदिर के बारे में मुख्य पुजारी बताते हैं कि मंदिर में शनिवार के दिन विशेष महत्व है. ऐसे में दूरदराज से भक्त मां ज्ञानो देवी के दर्शन करने के लिए आते हैं. दीपक जलाते हैं. इतना ही नहीं एक खंबे से वह अपना कलावा को भी बांधकर जाते हैं. मन्नत जब पूरी होती है तो उसको खोलते हैं.श्मशान घाट से मिली है मंदिर की सीमाएंसती माता मंदिर के पीछे ही श्मशान घाट बना हुआ है. ऐसे में जहां ज्ञानो देवी सती माता का मंदिर है. उसके पीछे वाली दीवार श्मशान घाट से बिल्कुल मिली हुई है. वही देवी की मंदिर की बात की जाए तो मंदिर को चारों तरफ से जाल से बंद है. भक्त दूर से ही देवी के दर्शन करते हैं.
