There are many stories about this abode of Bholenath. It is said that the history of this Shiva linga dates back to Dwapar Yuga. Earlier, sesame was cultivated at this place. Suddenly one day, Shiva linga originated from sesame fields and Baba Til came to be known as Bhandeshwar. Apart from this, when Vibhandak Rishi reached here, he saw a divine light among the sesame fields and he started worshiping there. It is said that when Ghori attacked Kashi, his army tried to destroy this temple as well. But Bhavar's team attacked them. Vinay Shukla, the priest of Til Bhandeshwar temple, told that, throughout the month of Shravan, Bholenath gives darshan to the devotees in a grand form. Devotees get blessings from him. Aarti takes place four times every day in Baba's court and every Monday he has special adornements. तिल भंडेश्वर शिव लिंग, काशी, बनारस, वाराणसी। ॐ नमः पार्वती पतये हर हर महादेव काशी में तिल भांडेश्वर शिव लिंग: सावन का महीना शिव की आराधना का महीना है। कहा जाता है कि इस पूरे महीने महादेव भक्तों पर अपनी कृपा बरसाते हैं। काशी में बाबा अपने विराट स्वरूप में विराजमान हैं। विशाल शिवलिंग के दर्शन से भक्तों को आशीर्वाद मिलता है। काशी में महादेव का एक और अद्भुत रूप है जिसे तिल भांडेश्वर के नाम से जाना जाता है। महादेव का शिवलिंग हर दिन एक तिल के हिसाब से बढ़ता है काशी में महादेव का यह शिवलिंग हर दिन एक तिल के हिसाब से बढ़ता है। प्रतिदिन बढ़ते-बढ़ते शिव लिंग 25 फीट से भी अधिक का हो गया है। इस दरबार में भक्तों की अपार श्रद्धा है। यहां तिल का तेल चढ़ाया जाता है. आपने महादेव के कई रूप देखे होंगे, लेकिन यहां महादेव का यह रूप अद्भुत है, श्रावण माह में इसके दर्शन से ही आशीर्वाद मिल जाता है। ग्रह बाधाएं दूर होती हैं. भोलेनाथ के इस धाम के बारे में कई कहानियां हैं। कहा जाता है कि इस शिवलिंग का इतिहास द्वापर युग से जुड़ा है। पहले इस स्थान पर तिल की खेती होती थी। अचानक एक दिन तिल के खेत से शिवलिंग की उत्पत्ति हुई और बाबा तिल को भंडेश्वर के नाम से जाना जाने लगा। इसके अलावा जब विभांडक ऋषि यहां पहुंचे तो उन्हें तिल के खेतों के बीच एक दिव्य रोशनी दिखाई दी और उन्होंने वहां पूजा शुरू कर दी। कहा जाता है कि जब गोरी ने काशी पर आक्रमण किया तो उसकी सेना ने इस मंदिर को भी नष्ट करने का प्रयास किया। लेकिन भावर की टीम ने उन पर हमला कर दिया. तिल भांडेश्वर मंदिर के पुजारी विनय शुक्ला ने बताया कि, पूरे श्रावण माह में भोलेनाथ भव्य रूप में भक्तों को दर्शन देते हैं। उनसे भक्तों को आशीर्वाद मिलता है. बाबा के दरबार में हर दिन चार बार आरती होती है और हर सोमवार को उनका विशेष शृंगार होता है.
