꧁ Echoes of Rebellion at Lakhnu Kila,Hathras ꧂.
Nestled in the village of Lakhnu in Hathras district stands Lakhnu Kila, a silent witness to a forgotten chapter of resistance. This fort, built in the late 18th century by Raja Dayaram, was part of a chain of strongholds in the region, alongside the main Hathras Fort.
Raja Dayaram, a powerful Jat ruler, expanded his dominion and wealth during his reign. But in 1817, his defiance of the British East India Company’s increasing control triggered a fierce rebellion. While the final battle centered on Hathras Fort, Lakhnu Kila too played a crucial supporting role in the resistance network of Raja Dayaram.
After the British victory, the region fell under colonial rule. Yet, the fort’s remnants still echo the defiance of that era. The ancient Shri Dauji Mandir, believed to be around 250 years old, continues to stand within the fort’s vicinity — a sacred symbol of continuity amid change.

꧁ लखनू किले में बसी बगावत की गूँज ꧂
हाथरस ज़िले के लखनू गाँव में स्थित लखनू किला आज भी इतिहास के एक अहम अध्याय की गवाही देता है। 18वीं शताब्दी के उत्तरार्ध में राजा दयाराम ने इस किले का निर्माण करवाया था। यह किला हाथरस के मुख्य किले के साथ-साथ उनके साम्राज्य की एक अहम कड़ी था।
1817 में जब राजा दयाराम ने ब्रिटिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के बढ़ते हस्तक्षेप का विरोध किया, तो हाथरस में बड़ा विद्रोह भड़का। इस संघर्ष में लखनू किला भी रणनीतिक दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण रहा।
ब्रिटिश विजय के बाद यह क्षेत्र उनके शासन के अधीन आ गया। लेकिन इस किले के अवशेष आज भी उस दौर की कहानी सुनाते हैं। परिसर में स्थित लगभग 250 वर्ष पुराना श्री दाऊजी मंदिर आज भी उसी विरासत का प्रतीक है।
