Bhimlat Kund is among the many historic water bodies of the fort, yet its identity is deeply rooted in legend. According to long-standing tradition, during the exile of the Pandavas, when Kunti needed water, Bhima struck the ground with force, and a spring emerged from the earth.
A powerful legend carried through generations.
Yet beyond this belief lies a remarkable historical reality. Chittorgarh Fort was sustained by an advanced water management system, often described as having dozens of reservoirs, stepwells, and kunds — enabling the fort to survive long sieges. Bhimlat Kund was part of this intelligent system.
Standing here today, one does not merely see a reservoir — one witnesses the meeting point of mythology and engineering, where faith and function coexist in stone.

भीमलत कुंड, चित्तौड़गढ़ – जहां आस्था और इतिहास साथ बहते हैं
चित्तौड़गढ़ किले के विशाल परिसर में स्थित भीमलत कुंड केवल एक जलाशय नहीं, बल्कि एक जीवित कथा है।
लोक परंपरा के अनुसार, वनवास के समय जब माता कुंती को जल की आवश्यकता हुई, तब भीम ने अपने पैर से धरती पर प्रहार किया और वहीं से जल प्रकट हुआ। यह कथा सदियों से लोगों की आस्था का हिस्सा रही है।
लेकिन इसके पीछे एक ऐतिहासिक सच्चाई भी है। चित्तौड़गढ़ किला अपने उन्नत जल प्रबंधन तंत्र के लिए प्रसिद्ध था, जिसमें अनेक कुंड, बावड़ियाँ और जल स्रोत शामिल थे। यह व्यवस्था लंबे समय तक किले को जीवित रखने के लिए बनाई गई थी। भीमलत कुंड उसी प्रणाली का एक महत्वपूर्ण भाग था।
आज जब आप यहां खड़े होते हैं, तो आप केवल पानी नहीं देखते, बल्कि उस दौर को महसूस करते हैं जहाँ कथा और विज्ञान, विश्वास और वास्तुकला एक साथ मौजूद थे।
