The school’s roots lie in the missionary work of Miss S.C. Holman, who served in Agra from 1873 to 1887, laying the groundwork for educational upliftment in the region. A plaque on campus commemorates the role of Dr. and Mrs. O.E. Fisk of Brookline, Massachusetts (USA), whose generous funding helped establish the Holman Institute.
