At the historic Shri Parshuram Mahadev Temple, the “Zero Waste Mahotsav” became a powerful example of how faith and responsibility can walk together. Temple flowers were reused to create incense, waste was transformed into resources, and cleanliness became a collective vow.
This meaningful initiative was the vision of District Magistrate Baghpat, Smt. Ashmita Lal, IAS, carried out under the supervision and guidance of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Tourism.
This Mahashivratri was not only about worship — it was about honoring nature, sustainability, and civic responsibility.

पावन महाशिवरात्रि के अवसर पर बागपत में आस्था ने एक नई दिशा पाई।
ऐतिहासिक श्री परशुराम महादेव मंदिर में आयोजित “ज़ीरो वेस्ट महोत्सव” ने भक्ति को स्वच्छता और सतत विकास से जोड़ा। मंदिर के फूलों से धूप-अगरबत्ती बनाई गई, कचरे को संसाधन में बदला गया और स्वच्छता को सामूहिक संकल्प बनाया गया।
यह सराहनीय पहल जिलाधिकारी बागपत, श्रीमती अश्मिता लाल, आईएएस की दूरदर्शी सोच का परिणाम है, जिसे उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार एवं उत्तर प्रदेश पर्यटन के मार्गदर्शन में सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित किया गया।
यह महाशिवरात्रि केवल पूजा का पर्व नहीं रही, बल्कि प्रकृति संरक्षण और जिम्मेदार नागरिकता का संदेश बन गई।
