Merry Christmas.
On Christmas, some places don’t ask for celebration—
they ask for silence, remembrance, and faithfulness.
Bandikui Church is one such place.
Its walls have witnessed prayers whispered rather than spoken, faith practiced quietly rather than displayed. Time has passed, congregations have thinned, but belief still lingers — resting gently in stone, arches, and light.
This Christmas, I return not to decorate it with festivity, but to listen.
To acknowledge a space where devotion has endured without noise, and where history continues to breathe through stillness.
A new collage, a familiar soul.
Some places don’t change — they simply wait to be remembered.
बांदीकुई चर्च – एक क्रिसमस स्मृति
मेरी क्रिसमस।
क्रिसमस के दिन कुछ स्थान उत्सव नहीं माँगते—
वे मौन, स्मृति और आस्था की निष्ठा माँगते हैं।
बांदीकुई चर्च भी ऐसा ही एक स्थान है।
यहाँ प्रार्थनाएँ फुसफुसाकर की गईं, आस्था को दिखाया नहीं गया — जिया गया। समय बदला, भीड़ कम हुई, लेकिन विश्वास अब भी इन दीवारों में ठहरा हुआ है।
इस क्रिसमस, मैं यहाँ उत्सव मनाने नहीं, महसूस करने लौटा हूँ।
एक ऐसी आस्था को नमन करने, जो शोर के बिना भी जीवित रही।
नई तस्वीरें, वही आत्मा।
कुछ विरासतें बदलती नहीं — बस याद किए जाने की प्रतीक्षा करती हैं।
