A Colonial Gem on Mall Road, Meerut – From Magistrate’s Mansion to a Gurukul. This beautiful white colonial bungalow on Mall Road, Meerut was built in 1935 by Mr. Nuruddin — an honourable magistrate during British rule and a distinguished member of the Bhaiyaji family of Lalkurti, Meerut. Spread over 1.34 acres, the structure is a masterpiece of symmetry, elegance, and colonial design — with arched entrances, thick masonry walls, and sprawling lawns that still whisper tales of its past. In 1966–67, it was purchased by Major Suarat Singh, father of the current owner Lt. Col. Davinder Singh Multani. Since then, the Multani family has preserved the bungalow with care and grace. Today, a part of this heritage bungalow has been transformed into a Gurukul — where children learn not just academics, but Indian values, discipline, and culture. The rest of the bungalow is still home to its current owner, Lt. Col. Davinder Singh Multani, whose family continues to preserve this legacy with deep care. It remains a rare place where history is not locked away, but lives and breathes through both heritage and learning. मॉल रोड, मेरठ का औपनिवेशिक बंगला – मजिस्ट्रेट के महल से एक गुरुकुल तक का सफ़र मेरठ के मॉल रोड पर स्थित यह सुंदर सफेद रंग का औपनिवेशिक बंगला 1935 में श्री नुरुद्दीन साहब द्वारा बनवाया गया था — जो ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान एक सम्माननीय मजिस्ट्रेट और लालकुर्ती, मेरठ के प्रतिष्ठित ‘भैयाजी’ परिवार के सदस्य थे। 1.34 एकड़ में फैला यह बंगला अपनी संतुलित बनावट, मोटी दीवारों, मेहराबदार प्रवेश द्वारों और हरे-भरे लॉन के साथ आज भी अपने गौरवशाली अतीत की गवाही देता है। सन 1966–67 में यह बंगला मेजर सरदार सुवरत सिंह जी ने खरीदा, जो वर्तमान स्वामी लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल सरदार दविंदर सिंह मुल्तानी के पिताजी थे। तब से यह परिवार इस धरोहर को बेहद स्नेह और संवेदना से संजोए हुए है। आज इस ऐतिहासिक बंगले का एक हिस्सा एक गुरुकुल के रूप में कार्य कर रहा है — जहाँ बच्चों को सिर्फ पढ़ाई ही नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय संस्कृति, अनुशासन और जीवन के संस्कार भी सिखाए जाते हैं। बंगले का शेष भाग आज भी इसके वर्तमान स्वामी लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल सरदार दविंदर सिंह मुल्तानी जी का निवास है, जिनका परिवार इस धरोहर को आज भी सहेज कर रखे हुए है। यह स्थान एक अनोखी मिसाल है — जहाँ इतिहास सिर्फ दीवारों में कैद नहीं, बल्कि जीवन और शिक्षा के रूप में जीवंत है।
