Bateshwar is home to 101 Shiva temples believed to be associated with the Mahabharata era. Over centuries, many kings contributed to its construction and revival.
???? Who Built the Fort?
While some records trace the original fort and temple complex to Raja Parmardidev of the 11th century (when the area was called Baghari), the present structure owes much of its grandeur to Raja Badan Singh Bhadauria, who rebuilt and expanded it in the 17th century.

Despite its rich heritage and spiritual aura, the fort now lies in ruins — its pillars broken, walls crumbling, and silence echoing through a place once divine.

कुछ ऐतिहासिक विवरणों में इसका मूल निर्माण 11वीं सदी के राजा परमार्दिदेव द्वारा बताया गया है, जब इस क्षेत्र को बाघारी कहा जाता था। परंतु, वर्तमान किले और मंदिरों के प्रमुख स्वरूप का निर्माण राजा बदन सिंह भदौरिया ने 17वीं शताब्दी में करवाया।
