चित्तौड़गढ़ दुर्ग के विशाल परिसर के भीतर स्थित गोमुख कुंड एक अद्भुत और रहस्यमय स्थल है।
यहाँ पत्थर से बने गाय के मुख से जल की धारा निरंतर बहती रहती है और सीधे शिवलिंग पर गिरती है। दिन-रात, सदियों से यह प्रवाह ऐसे चलता आ रहा है मानो प्रकृति स्वयं भगवान शिव का अभिषेक कर रही हो।
इतिहासकारों के अनुसार यह जल दुर्ग की प्राचीन जल-प्रणाली का हिस्सा हो सकता है, जिसमें अनेक कुंड, बावड़ियाँ और जलाशय आपस में जुड़े हुए थे। फिर भी इस जल का वास्तविक स्रोत आज तक अज्ञात है।
कुछ मानते हैं कि यह धारा दुर्ग के निर्माण से भी पहले की है।
कुछ इसे चमत्कार कहते हैं।
और कुछ बस मौन खड़े रह जाते हैं… आस्था को बहते हुए देखने के लिए।
