Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Pushkar, Rajasthan, stands as a revered monument in memory of the visits of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is believed to have visited Pushkar around 1509 during his first Udasi (spiritual journey). Later, in 1706, Guru Gobind Singh Ji visited the town while traveling through Rajputana. During his stay, he was hosted by a local Brahmin priest, Chetan Das. The original structure built to mark these visits was a small dharamshala known as Guru Nanak Dharmasala. It was later redeveloped into a marble Gurdwara and is now known as Gurdwara Singh Sabha. The site is affiliated with Sri Guru Singh Sabha Ajmer. One of the most intriguing aspects of this Gurdwara is the preservation of a hukamnama (royal edict) written on bhojpatra (birch bark), which is believed to have been given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji to Mahant Chetan Das. A stone at the nearby Gobind Ghat, now renamed Gandhi Ghat, bears inscriptions in Gurmukhi, Devanagari, Persian, and Roman scripts, marking the sacred legacy of the Guru’s visit.
