Maa Bhadrakali Temple, Hastinapur, Meerut – A Sacred Seat of Faith
Situated on the banks of the Upper Ganga Canal, the Maa Bhadrakali Temple in Hastinapur (Meerut) is a revered destination for countless devotees. Every Monday of the holy month of Magh, the temple hosts a large fair, where worshippers gather from near and far to offer prayers and seek blessings.
According to legend, at the end of the Satyug, a demon named Vrittasur terrorized the region, preventing sages from completing their yajnas. Troubled by his tyranny, the gods worshipped Lord Shiva, from whose third eye the Goddess manifested. Shiva named her Bhadrakali. She waged a fierce battle with Vrittasur and ultimately destroyed him. After the demon’s end, Maa Bhadrakali blessed humankind, promising to protect her devotees and fulfill their vows.
Locals believe that her divine grace brings bountiful harvests and prosperity. The temple, guided by Mahant Garbarpuri Maharaj, remains a place where no devotee ever returns empty-handed.

मां भद्रकाली मंदिर, हस्तिनापुर, मेरठ – श्रद्धा और आस्था का केंद्र
मध्य गंगा नहर के किनारे स्थित मां भद्रकाली मंदिर हस्तिनापुर (मेरठ) क्षेत्र की आस्था और श्रद्धा का प्रमुख केंद्र है। यहां प्रतिदिन भक्त दर्शन के लिए आते हैं, जबकि माघ माह के प्रत्येक सोमवार को विशाल मेला लगता है, जिसमें दूर-दराज़ से श्रद्धालु उमड़ते हैं।
किवदंती है कि सतयुग के अंत में वृत्तासुर नाम का असुर इस क्षेत्र में आतंक मचाए हुए था। वह किसी साधु को यज्ञ पूरा नहीं करने देता था, जिससे देवता भी परेशान हो गए। तब देवताओं ने भगवान शिव की स्तुति की। भगवान शिव के त्रिनेत्र से देवी प्रकट हुईं और शिव ने उनका नाम भद्रकाली रखा। मां भद्रकाली ने उस असुर से भयंकर युद्ध किया और अंत में उसका वध कर दिया। कहा जाता है कि असुर का अंत होने के बाद मां ने मनुष्यों को आशीर्वाद दिया कि उनके भक्त सदैव उनकी शरण में सुरक्षित रहेंगे।
स्थानीय मान्यता है कि मां की कृपा से फसलें लहलहाती हैं और पशुधन भी समृद्ध होता है। महंत गड़बड़पुरी महाराज के नेतृत्व में यह मंदिर आज भी श्रद्धालुओं की मन्नतें पूरी करने वाला पावन धाम माना जाता है।
