Kriparam Gaur was a distinguished military commander and court noble under Bundela ruler Raja Bir Singh Deo (1605–1627). Known for his loyalty and valor, he became one of the most trusted men in the Orchha court.
Along the banks of the Betwa River stand the grand Chhatris (cenotaphs) of Orchha’s kings. But among these royal memorials lies a rare exception — the Chhatri of Kriparam Gaur. He remains the only non-royal ever honored with a cenotaph in Orchha — a commander remembered among kings.
Close by, the surviving entrance gate of Kriparam Gaur’s Haveli still stands, symbolizing his stature and his enduring contribution to Orchha’s heritage.

कृपाराम गौर, बुंदेला शासक राजा बिड़-सिंह देव (1605–1627) के सेनापति और दरबारी थे। अपनी निष्ठा और पराक्रम के कारण वे राजदरबार के सबसे विश्वसनीय व्यक्तियों में गिने जाते थे।
बेतवा नदी के तट पर बनी ओरछा की राजवंशीय छतरियाँ राजाओं की स्मृति को समर्पित हैं। किंतु इनमें एक अद्वितीय छतरी है — कृपाराम गौर की छतरी। वे आज भी ओरछा के इतिहास में एकमात्र गैर-राजपरिवार व्यक्ति हैं जिन्हें छतरी समर्पित की गई — एक सेनापति जिसे राजाओं के बीच स्थान मिला।
