ABU KA MAQBARA,MEERUT. Abu Ka Maqbara is the tomb of Abu Mohammad Khan, Nawab of Meerut and a”Wazir”at the court of Aurangzeb. Built in 1688,ABU KA MAQBARA is an 334-year old red sandstone tomb of Abu Mohammad Khan,Nawab of meerut In his time,Meerut became the focal point of journeys from Avadh to the imperial capital. He was an extremely important historical figure. His importance to Meerut and its history can be gauged by the fact that some of the most prominent city spots such as Abu Lane and Abu Ka Nala or named after him. His tomb was built in 1688 and it is his final resting place and that of his wife today,however, the tomb is in a deplorable state. Encroachment is rampant and tin huts can be seen atop the tomb.
