COMPANY GARDEN,GANDHI BAGH,MALL ROAD,MEERUT. Gandhi Bagh, also known as the Company Bagh or Garden, is a historic and the oldest park located on the Mall Road in Meerut city. It holds the distinction of being one of the oldest parks in Meerut, established by the East India Company and presently maintained by the Meerut Cantonment Board. This iconic destination, created by the British, boasts abundant greenery adorned with mango, mulberry, and bamboo trees. One of the notable features of Gandhi Bagh is the water tank, originally removed from Delhi Fort and later re-erected here in 1885 by Lala Kishan Sahai Ji Rais of Meerut, in honor of the Duke of Connaught, Prince Arthur. Additionally, the park is adorned with the Jugmandar Dwar, a structure built by Saru Smelting and Refining Corporation Pvt Ltd in 1963. During the British era, Gandhi Bagh also served as a cricket playground, emulating the cricket fields of England. It stands as a testament to the historical significance and cultural heritage of this remarkable place.
