The Legacy in Stone – Diwanji Begum Mosque, Agra.
Tucked away in Billochpura near Tajganj, this mosque was built in 1677 by Diwanji Begum, wife of Asaf Khan and mother of Mumtaz Mahal. Constructed in exquisite Shah Jahani style, the red sandstone structure features three domes, the central one grander than the rest.
Interestingly, the mosque continues to be a quiet hub for local inlay artisans, who are believed to have contributed to its intricate mimbar (pulpit) and even gifted a beautiful inlay door — not just as a decoration, but as a symbol of faith and devotion.

बिलोचपुरा, ताजगंज के पास स्थित यह ऐतिहासिक मस्जिद 1677 ई. में दीवानजी बेगम द्वारा बनवाई गई थी, जो आसफ खां की पत्नी और मुमताज महल की माता थीं। शाहजहानी स्थापत्यशैली में बनी यह लाल बलुआ पत्थर की मस्जिद तीन गुंबदों से सजी है, जिनमें बीच वाला सबसे बड़ा है।
आज भी यह मस्जिद जड़ाऊ कारीगरों की श्रद्धा का केंद्र है। माना जाता है कि मस्जिद का मिंबर उन्हीं की बारीक कारीगरी का नतीजा है। उन्होंने अपनी आस्था दिखाते हुए मस्जिद को एक अनमोल जड़ाऊ दरवाज़ा भी भेंट किया, जो आज भी वहाँ की पहचान है।
