Karn Mahal – A Forgotten Legacy of Tomar Dynasty.
Standing opposite the Dhonda Gate in Gwalior Fort is Karn Mahal, also known as Kirti Mandir. Built between 1454 and 1479 by Kirti Singh, the second ruler of the Tomar dynasty—who was also known as Karn Singh—this structure is a symbol of the architectural elegance of its time.
The palace is a double-storeyed structure with a central large hall flanked by two smaller rooms on each side. Though time has worn down much of its splendor, traces of ancient paint and tile work can still be seen, whispering tales of its glorious past.

ग्वालियर किले के ढोंडा गेट के सामने स्थित कर्ण महल, जिसे कीर्ति मंदिर भी कहा जाता है, तोमर वंश के दूसरे शासक कीर्ति सिंह (कर्ण सिंह) द्वारा 1454 से 1479 के बीच बनवाया गया था।
यह दो मंज़िला भवन है जिसमें एक बड़ा कक्ष और दोनों ओर दो छोटे कमरे हैं। महल की दीवारों पर आज भी पुरानी चित्रकारी और बाहरी टाइलों के कुछ अवशेष नजर आते हैं, जो इसके भव्य इतिहास की कहानी बयाँ करते हैं।
