Keshav Bhawan, also known as the monsoon pavilion, is one of the most fascinating structures within the Deeg Palace complex in Rajasthan. Built beside the serene Rup Sagar lake, this single-story open pavilion was designed to simulate the sights and sounds of monsoon rains.
Its ceiling holds stone balls that would thunder when agitated by running water, while spouts above the arches released water to mimic rainfall. During Holi, the entire system came alive with colored water, transforming the structure into a vibrant celebration of sound, light, and color.
This innovative marvel is part of the grand Deeg Palace, built by Maharaja Badan Singh and later expanded by Maharaja Suraj Mal. With its fortified walls, Rajput-Mughal architecture, and engineering brilliance, Keshav Bhawan stands as a unique blend of art, leisure, and technology from the 18th century.

केशव भवन, जिसे मानसून मंडप या बारादरी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, राजस्थान के डीग स्थित डीग पैलेस परिसर की सबसे अनोखी संरचनाओं में से एक है। यह सुंदर रूप सागर झील के किनारे स्थित एक मंज़िला खुला मंडप है, जिसे बारिश के मौसम के दृश्य और ध्वनि को दोहराने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया था।
इसकी छत में लगे धातु की गेंदें बहते पानी से टकराकर गड़गड़ाहट जैसी ध्वनि पैदा करती थीं, जबकि मेहराबों के ऊपर लगे टोंटों से गिरता पानी वर्षा की अनुभूति देता था। होली के दौरान जब इस प्रणाली में रंगीन पानी डाला जाता था, तो यह मंडप रंग, ध्वनि और उत्सव का अद्भुत मेल बन जाता था।
18वीं शताब्दी में महाराजा बदन सिंह द्वारा निर्मित और महाराजा सूरजमल द्वारा विस्तारित, डीग पैलेस की यह रचना राजपूत-मुगल वास्तुकला और जल-प्रौद्योगिकी का बेजोड़ उदाहरण है।
