Cinema Halls of Meerut

This post is for all the film admirers of Meerut hardly any must be here who has never visited any cinemas any time it's nostalgic to share this post as I have watched so many pictures in practically all these film corridors yet it's extremely sad that now some of them have shut or have replaced the multiplex, hospitals, malls now and few are even lying in ruins, there was a time when people use to buy tickets in black and use to wait in long ques, during the famous nauchandi mela in these theaters pictures use to run two additional shows that are 12 am-3 am and afterward 3 am-6 am Jagat has been one of the oldest halls in Meerut since 1928. But now the show is getting over for Meerut’s single-screen cinema halls they are gradually heading into the oblivion. The single screen cinemas are almost on the verge of extinction.there are upteen reasons for the decline but the most notable has been the huge success of multiplexes . another reason for the decline of single screen theatres is that change in the technology of showbiz, digitisation has changed the way movies are shown today.
