Once the royal cremation ground of Marwar’s rulers, Mandore gradually transformed from a sacred funerary landscape into a public garden. The ruins of Mandore Fort, believed to date back to the early medieval period, remind visitors that this was once the capital before security concerns forced the shift to Mehrangarh. Nearby stands the Ravana Temple, deeply rooted in local belief, connecting Mandore to the legend of Mandodari and giving the site a rare mythological dimension.
