A Silent Witness of 15th-Century Chanderi
Standing quietly to the north-west of historic Chanderi, close to the Idgah, lies the tomb of Qazi Khatmuddin — a figure whose presence once carried judicial and religious authority in this medieval town.
An inscription on the tomb clearly records the year 1455, firmly placing its construction in the 15th century, a period when Chanderi flourished under the Malwa Sultanate.
This was an era when Chanderi was not merely a strategic stronghold but also a centre of administration, learning, and faith. The tomb’s location near the Idgah hints at a carefully planned sacred landscape, where law, prayer, and community life intersected.

पंद्रहवीं सदी की एक ख़ामोश गवाही
चंदेरी नगर के उत्तर-पश्चिम दिशा में, ईदगाह के समीप स्थित क़ाज़ी ख़तमुद्दीन का मक़बरा आज भी अपने समय की गवाही देता है। मक़बरे पर अंकित शिलालेख स्पष्ट रूप से बताता है कि इसका निर्माण 1455 ईस्वी में हुआ था — उस दौर में जब चंदेरी मालवा सल्तनत के अधीन एक महत्वपूर्ण प्रशासनिक और सांस्कृतिक केंद्र था।
क़ाज़ी जैसे पद न्याय और धार्मिक मार्गदर्शन के प्रतीक होते थे, और ईदगाह के समीप मक़बरे का होना उस समय की शहरी योजना और धार्मिक जीवन को दर्शाता है।
