On the Jaipur–Agra highway (present-day NH-21), where the Aravalli hills begin to rise gently against the sky, stands a temple that feels less constructed and more discovered. Chulgiri Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra, located on the outskirts of Jaipur, is not merely a shrine — it is a spiritual climb.
The story of Chulgiri traces back to 1953, when 108 Acharya Shri Desh Bhushan Ji Maharaj, a revered Digambar Jain Acharya, arrived at this quiet hill. Drawn by its isolation and spiritual serenity, he chose this place for intense meditation and tapasya. Recognising its sanctity, he later inspired the development of a Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra here. It was he who gave this hill the name “Chulgiri.”
Perched atop the Aravallis, the white marble temple today stands as a symbol of restraint, discipline, and inward journey. The climb to the temple feels symbolic — each step distancing you from worldly noise and bringing you closer to reflection. Devotees from Rajasthan and across India visit this sacred site, which is recognised as a Digambar Jain pilgrimage centre.
Chulgiri is not grand because of ornamentation. It is powerful because of stillness. In the silent winds of the Aravallis, faith continues to echo.

जयपुर–आगरा राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग (वर्तमान NH-21) पर अरावली पर्वतमाला की शांत पहाड़ियों के बीच स्थित चूलगिरी दिगंबर जैन अतिशय क्षेत्र एक आध्यात्मिक यात्रा का अनुभव कराता है। गुलाबी नगरी जयपुर की हलचल से दूर, यह स्थान आत्मचिंतन और तप का धाम है।
सन् 1953 में १०८ आचार्य श्री देश भूषण जी महाराज यहाँ पधारे। उन्होंने इस पहाड़ी को साधना के लिए अत्यंत उपयुक्त पाया। इसकी शांति और एकांत ने उन्हें गहन तप के लिए प्रेरित किया। बाद में उनके मार्गदर्शन में यहाँ दिगंबर जैन अतिशय क्षेत्र की स्थापना हुई और इसी स्थल को उन्होंने “चूलगिरी” नाम दिया।
आज पहाड़ी की चोटी पर स्थित यह श्वेत मंदिर केवल स्थापत्य की दृष्टि से सुंदर नहीं, बल्कि आत्मिक ऊर्जा का केंद्र है। यहाँ तक की चढ़ाई स्वयं एक साधना जैसी प्रतीत होती है — मानो हर कदम संसार से विरक्ति और आत्मा की ओर अग्रसर हो।
चूलगिरी वैभव से नहीं, बल्कि उसकी मौन शक्ति से महान है।
