Just 5 km north of Fatehpur Sikri lies a lesser-known yet historically significant gem — the Tomb of Sheikh Ibrahim. Built between 1585 and 1591 by Sheikh Ibrahim, the nephew of the revered Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti, this tomb also marks the site of his death in 1591.
Set within a fortified enclosure featuring corner bastions, the tomb complex houses a mosque adorned with inscriptions of the Kalima in elegant Naskh script. A southern gateway leads visitors into this peaceful haven, where the spiritual and architectural heritage of Mughal India still resonates.
विरासत की गूंज: रसूलपुर, आगरा का शेख इब्राहीम का मक़बरा
फतेहपुर सीकरी से मात्र 5 किमी उत्तर स्थित है एक कम प्रसिद्ध लेकिन ऐतिहासिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण स्मारक — शेख इब्राहीम का मक़बरा। यह मक़बरा 1585 से 1591 के बीच शेख इब्राहीम द्वारा बनवाया गया था, जो प्रसिद्ध सूफी संत शेख सलीम चिश्ती के भतीजे थे। वे यहीं 1591 में निधन को प्राप्त हुए।
यह स्मारक एक चारदीवारी के भीतर स्थित है, जिसके चारों कोनों पर बुर्ज बने हैं। परिसर में स्थित मस्जिद का प्रवेश द्वार दक्षिण दिशा में है, और इसकी दीवारों पर नस्क़ लिपि में कलिमा की शिलालेख हैं। यह स्थल आज भी मुग़लकालीन आध्यात्मिक और स्थापत्य विरासत को जीवंत बनाए हुए है।
