The Idgah of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, stands as one of the finest examples of Sultanate-era architecture. Built in AD 1495 by Governor Sher Khan during the reign of Sultan Ghiyas-ud-Din Khilji, this mosque lies just outside the main town. Its grand two-storeyed arched façade, flanked by minarets, opens onto a vast stone platform (80 x 100 feet) where, for over five centuries, Muslims have gathered to offer prayers on Id-ul-Fitr and Id-ul-Zuha.
The Idgah is not only a place of worship but also a monument that embodies the cultural and spiritual heritage of Chanderi.

꧁ चंदेरी की इदगाह – सल्तनती धरोहर ꧂
चंदेरी, मध्य प्रदेश की यह भव्य इदगाह सल्तनती स्थापत्य कला का अनुपम उदाहरण है। इसका निर्माण सन 1495 ईस्वी में ग़ियासउद्दीन खिलजी के शासनकाल में राज्यपाल शेर खान ने कराया था। दो-मंज़िला मेहराबी द्वार और दोनों ओर ऊँची मीनारें इसकी भव्यता को बढ़ाती हैं। सामने स्थित विशाल पत्थर का मंच (80 × 100 फीट) आज भी ईद-उल-फ़ित्र और ईद-उल-ज़ुहा की नमाज़ के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है।
यह इदगाह केवल धार्मिक स्थल ही नहीं, बल्कि चंदेरी की ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक विरासत का प्रतीक है।
