Noorabad Bridge, Morena .– A Mughal Legacy of Love and Architecture. The Noorabad Bridge near Morena, Madhya Pradesh, is a remarkable Mughal-era structure spanning the Kuwari (or Sank) River. Originally, the village here was called Sihora but was renamed Noorabad during Emperor Jahangir’s reign, in honor of his beloved queen, Noor Jahan. Though the idea of this romantic monument is often credited to Jahangir, the actual bridge was constructed by Motimad Khan, a Mughal official under Aurangzeb, in the 17th century. The bridge’s architecture is classic Mughal, defined by seven pointed arches—each about 6 meters high and 5 meters wide—flanked by octagonal domes (chhatris) and minarets, all encased in elegantly carved boundary walls. This structure is not just a passage but a historical symbol of royal love and engineering excellence. Over time, the bridge earned names like Taili-ka-Pul (Oilman’s Bridge), but its connection to Noor Jahan remains its most romantic identity. Located on the old Agra–Mumbai highway, 13 km from Morena and 24 km from Gwalior, the bridge today stands abandoned for vehicular use but preserved by the Madhya Pradesh Archaeological Department. Travelers still stop here to marvel at the arches and the tranquil Sank River flowing below—echoes of a time when love shaped landscapes. नूराबाद पुल, मुरैना – मुग़ल दौर की मोहब्बत और वास्तुकला की मिसाल मध्य प्रदेश के मुरैना ज़िले में स्थित नूराबाद पुल मुगल काल का शानदार स्थापत्य है, जो सांक नदी (कुआरी नदी) पर बना हुआ है। यह पुल कभी सिरोहा नामक गांव में था, जिसे मुग़ल सम्राट जहांगीर ने अपनी बेगम नूरजहां के नाम पर नूराबाद कर दिया। पुल के निर्माण का श्रेय जहांगीर को नहीं, बल्कि औरंगज़ेब के समय के एक अधिकारी मोतीमद ख़ान को दिया जाता है। 17वीं शताब्दी में बने इस पुल में सात नुकीली मेहराबें हैं, जिनकी ऊँचाई लगभग 6 मीटर और चौड़ाई 5 मीटर है। पुल के दोनों ओर बनी दीवारों पर अष्टकोणीय छतरियाँ और मीनारें इसकी भव्यता में चार चांद लगाती हैं। नूरजहाँ और जहांगीर की प्रेमगाथा को संजोए यह पुल आज भी अपनी मजबूती और शिल्पकारी से यात्रियों को रोकने पर मजबूर कर देता है। कभी ‘तैली का पुल’ कहे जाने वाले इस पुल को अब पुरातत्व विभाग ने संरक्षित स्मारक घोषित किया है। ग्वालियर से 24 किलोमीटर और मुरैना से 13 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित यह पुल अब वाहनों के लिए बंद है, लेकिन इतिहास और प्रकृति प्रेमियों के लिए यह आज भी एक जीवंत विरासत है।
