In Ruins, Yet Remembered – The Forgotten Rauza of Diwanji Begum.
Among the fading remains of Billochpura lies the 1677-built tomb of Diwanji Begum, wife of Asaf Khan and mother of Mumtaz Mahal. The superstructure has collapsed, the grave is lost, but the cenotaph chamber and the foundation tell tales of what once was a majestic square tomb with corner towers.
Though in ruins, the rauza still whispers stories of one of the most influential women in Mughal history – mother to the Empress for whom the Taj was built.
खंडहर में भी कायम – दीवानजी बेगम का भुलाया गया रौज़ा
आगरा के बिलोचपुरा क्षेत्र में स्थित यह रौज़ा 1677 ई. में बनवाया गया था। दीवानजी बेगम, आसफ खां की पत्नी और मुमताज महल की माता थीं। आज यह मकबरा खंडहर में तब्दील हो चुका है – मुख्य ढांचा ढह गया है, कब्र गायब है, परंतु छतरीदार कक्ष और नींव आज भी उस शाही निर्माण की गवाही देते हैं।
यह रौज़ा, एक माँ की याद है – उस माँ की जिसने ताजमहल जैसी अमर प्रेम कहानी की रचना की प्रेरणा दी।
