This temple first appears in official Jain directories with a striking note:
“Here rests a chaturth-kaalin, atishaykari idol of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu.”
A rare line, and one of the few facts available online — enough to tell us that this is not an ordinary shrine but a relic of deep spiritual heritage.
Sinauli itself is a historic village, known to archaeologists for the famous excavations that revealed chariots, burials, and cultural layers stretching back thousands of years. Amid this ancient landscape, the Jain temple stands quietly, a witness to time — uncelebrated, unrecorded, but never forgotten by faith.
And then begins the story not written anywhere on the internet, but alive through the families who protected it.
According to local tradition, no Jain family has lived in Sinauli for nearly twenty-two years. Yet the lamp of devotion never went out.
For decades, the temple has been cared for by the family of Shri Satish Jain, originally of Sinauli and now living in Kailash Nagar, Delhi. Their commitment kept the sanctity alive in a village where the community had slowly moved away.
They recall that the temple is believed to be 125–150 years old, built when the Jain population here was thriving. Inside the sanctum lie handwritten, rare Jain shastras, preserved with devotion rather than archival tools — fragile, precious, and carrying the breath of the past.
Today, the temple stands not just as a place of worship, but as a story of care, continuity, and quiet guardianship — a reminder that heritage survives not through records, but through people who refuse to let it die.

जिले बागपत के शांत और ऐतिहासिक गाँव सिनौली में एक मंदिर ऐसा भी है, जिसकी दीवारें बोलती नहीं — पर उसका इतिहास बहुत गहरा है।
यह है प्राचीन श्री 1008 चंद्रप्रभु दिगंबर जैन मंदिर, जहाँ भगवान चंद्रप्रभु की चतुर्थ-कालीन अतिष्यकारी प्रतिमा आज भी विराजमान है। यह वही तथ्य है जो आधिकारिक जैन निर्देशिकाओं में दर्ज मिलता है — और जो इस मंदिर की महत्ता को सिद्ध करता है।

बताया जाता है कि पिछले लगभग 22 वर्षों से सिनौली में कोई भी जैन परिवार निवास नहीं करता।
फिर भी मंदिर का दीपक कभी बुझा नहीं।
लंबे समय से इस मंदिर की पूजा-व्यवस्था और देखभाल श्री सतीश जैन के परिवार द्वारा की जा रही है, जिनका मूल निवास सिनौली है और जो अब कैलाश नगर, दिल्ली में रहते हैं।
परिवार के अनुसार मंदिर लगभग 125–150 वर्ष पुराना माना जाता है — वही समय जब इस क्षेत्र में जैन समुदाय सशक्त था।
मंदिर में हस्तलिखित दुर्लभ जैन शास्त्र भी सुरक्षित हैं, जिनका धार्मिक और ऐतिहासिक महत्व अत्यंत गहरा है।
आज यह मंदिर केवल ईश्वर का निवास नहीं, बल्कि संरक्षण, समर्पण और निरंतरता की जीवित कहानी है — यह प्रमाण कि धरोहरें किताबों में नहीं, बल्कि सहेजने वाले हाथों में बची रहती हैं।
