The ice and general Mills (BARAF KHANA) on railway road is the OLDEST cold storage in India. Built in the first decade of the twentieth century by the trio Late Sri Bhikkan Lal, Late Sri Lokmani lal and Late Sri Sharda Prasad ji. The beautiful bunglow is a centrally air conditioned master piece with arguably the best mosaic work one can come across. This was such a blessing for the family that they went on to built dozens of cold storage plants all across UP and West Bengal and one in Rajasthan too. Even the first cold storage of now Pakistan was built by Sri Sharda Prasad ji in Lahore and commissioned in 1945. To this day this entity is being managed by the Descendants of the same family and even the fifth generation is a proud operator in this industry.
