A Sacred Journey of Faith, History and Harmony
Hidden in the village of Mahlka near Falawda, Meerut, stands an extraordinary Jain shrine dedicated to Shri 1008 Bhagwan Chandraprabhu. This ancient temple is not just a place of worship but a living testimony of faith, miracles, and communal harmony.
The temple houses a rare and revered fourth-era idol of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu, believed by devotees to be miraculous. Long before this, the village had a Chaityalaya of Bhagwan Parshvanath, dating to before 1834.
Nearly two centuries ago, during the British period when Begum Samru ruled Sardhana, a white idol of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu was discovered during the excavation of the Ganga Canal. On the advice of her religious counselor, the idol was permitted to be taken away. While being transported towards Hastinapur, the bullock cart halted at Mahlka and refused to move further. That night, a devotee dreamt of the Lord expressing His wish to be established there.
What followed is part of local faith — the idol felt light as a flower when lifted, and a grand temple rose in Mahlka, today crowned with a 95-foot-high shikhara.
Over time, devotees believe miracles unfolded — prosperity increased, families flourished, and harmony prevailed in this Muslim-majority village, where people of all communities live like one family.
The temple complex includes multiple sanctums with idols of Bhagwan Mahavir, Neminath, Shantinath, Padmaprabhu, Sheetalnath, Vasupujya, and an ancient 108-hooded idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath, once kept locked before the temple’s construction.
In 1971, a dharamshala was built, and during a 24-hour Bhaktamar Path led by Sant Satyavati, two divine beings were believed to have appeared in the night — a moment still remembered with devotion.

आस्था, इतिहास और सद्भाव की जीवंत गाथा
फलावदा क्षेत्र के गांव महलका में स्थित श्री 1008 भगवान चंद्रप्रभु का प्राचीन जैन मंदिर आस्था और श्रद्धा का अनुपम केंद्र है। यहां विराजमान चतुर्थकालीन भगवान चंद्रप्रभु की अलौकिक प्रतिमा भक्तों के लिए विशेष महत्व रखती है।
1834 ईस्वी से पूर्व यहां भगवान पार्श्वनाथ का चैत्यालय विद्यमान था। लगभग दो सौ वर्ष पूर्व ब्रिटिश काल में, जब सरधना पर बेगम समरू का शासन था, गंगनहर की खुदाई के दौरान भगवान चंद्रप्रभु की श्वेत प्रतिमा प्राप्त हुई। धार्मिक परामर्श के बाद जैन समाज को यह प्रतिमा ले जाने की अनुमति दी गई।
हस्तिनापुर ले जाते समय बैलगाड़ी महलका गांव में रुक गई और आगे नहीं बढ़ सकी। मान्यता है कि उसी रात एक श्रद्धालु को स्वप्न में भगवान चंद्रप्रभु ने यहीं मंदिर निर्माण की इच्छा प्रकट की। प्रतिमा उठाते समय वह पुष्प के समान हल्की हो गई और महलका में भव्य मंदिर का निर्माण हुआ, जो आज लगभग 95 फीट ऊंचे शिखर के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित है।
भक्तों के अनुसार मंदिर की स्थापना के बाद गांव में समृद्धि, संतान प्राप्ति और सामाजिक सौहार्द बढ़ा। मुस्लिम बहुल गांव होने के बावजूद सभी समुदाय भाईचारे के साथ रहते हैं।
मंदिर परिसर में भगवान महावीर, नेमिनाथ, शांतिनाथ, पदमप्रभु, शीतलनाथ, वसुपूज्य तथा भगवान पार्श्वनाथ की 108 फनयुक्त प्राचीन चमत्कारी प्रतिमा विराजमान है।
1971 में धर्मशाला का निर्माण हुआ। संत सत्यवती जी के सानिध्य में 24 घंटे के भक्तामर पाठ के दौरान मध्यरात्रि में दिव्य घटनाओं की मान्यता आज भी श्रद्धा से स्मरण की जाती है।
यह मंदिर केवल पत्थरों की संरचना नहीं, बल्कि जीवित आस्था है।
