Shahi Jama Masjid , Meerut
Shahi Jama Masjid in Meerut is considered the first mosque constructed in North India in 1019 AD. It was built by the then Wazir, Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi at the time of Qutubuddin Aibak. The mosque was partially restored by Mughal Emperor Humayun because of the wear and tear it had endured over the years.
