मेहरानगढ़ किले की ऊँचाइयों पर स्थित चामुंडा माता मंदिर, जोधपुर के जन्म और उसकी आत्मा से गहराई से जुड़ा हुआ स्थल है।
1460 ईस्वी में राव जोधा ने मंडोर से देवी चामुंडा की प्रतिमा यहाँ स्थापित की, जब जोधपुर की राजधानी को मेहरानगढ़ की पहाड़ी पर स्थानांतरित किया गया। तभी से देवी चामुंडा को जोधपुर और राठौड़ राजपरिवार की कुलदेवी के रूप में पूजा जाता है।
